becoming the most sought-after locks for sliding glass doors. These
latches provide the maximum patio door security without the need for
keys, chains, or spring-loaded mechanisms. Easy to use latches that

accessibility.
Types of Patio Door Latches
There are a few different types of patio door latches. Of course the
type of patio door latches that you choose will depend largely on the
type of patio doors that you have. The two main types of patio doors are
non-sliding doors and sliding doors. Sliding glass patio doors have
certain issues and concerns when it comes to security. Sliding patio
doors can sometimes be lifted out of their tracks from outside in order
to gain access. There are single doors and double doors in the
non-sliding variety of patio doors.
Some sliding patio door latches of the kind that sit in the sliding
door track, are keyed and while some others are not. The type that are
not keyed usually has some type of switch that can be triggered to
engage or disengage the sliding door latch. These latches are however
much less common than the keyed variety of sliding door latches. Keyed
sliding door latches are much more common and popular than the non-keyed
variety. But, extra precaution should be taken with this and other keyed
types of patio door security. For instance, for keyed entrance-exit
areas, duplicate keys should be hung within a short distance from the
door or window so that immediate escape in case of emergency is
possible.

These latches are made of various materials like brass, aluminum,
steel, iron etc. These latches feature a steel rod handle and zinc
die-cast mounting plates and are available in many styles and different
finishes such as white, black, brass, and nickel.
