A Lockset is a set of hardware for
shutting or locking a door. Locksets are used by every one of us
virtually everyday. They are one of those items in door hardware that we
constantly take for granted. They provide us with convenience, privacy
and security. We consider them as those shiny knobs that are on every
door. There is a wide range in features, quality, durability and
function with respect to locksets.
Type of Locksets
There are two general kinds of locksets available for doors:
- Cylindrical Lockset: A cylindrical lockset is the one
that fits into a large hole bored into the door's face.
- Mortise Lockset: A mortise lockset fits into a
rectangular pocket cut into the door's edge.
