Hinged Pin Door Stop
Hinge pin door stops are used in
the place of spring door stops. When a standard spring door stop is
undesirable a hinge pin door stop is the next best alternative. A Hinge
pin door stop is designed in such a way so as to slip over the existing
bottom hinge pin of the door itself. Compared to a spring door stop, a
hinge pin door stop is somewhat more visible as it is mounted on the
door itself, and fixed a little higher than a traditional door stop. For
this reason, the stop is available in many finishes and designs which
can accent any décor, or conversely, to be as inconspicuous as
possible. Not only hinged door stops used in residential homes, but also
there are heavy duty hinge pin door stops for industrial use.
Styles of Hinged Pin Door StopUsually, the hinged pin door stop has a basic design having two rubber-tipped "legs." One leg of the stop is curved back on the door itself to keep the door stop from freely rotating on the pin. The other leg of the stop is threaded through a retaining barrel, making it adjustable in length. The other leg points in the opposite direction towards the wall so that when the door is opened this leg will eventually contact the wall and prevent the door from swinging further.Materials Used in Hinged Pin Door Stop
